Nokia N950 based MeeGo OS

Despite holding Windows Phone 7 as the main OS, Nokia does not necessarily leave OS MeeGo. In fact, Nokia officials confirmed the presence of the Nokia N950 as a new handset-based MeeGo, OS that Nokia worked with Intel.

Nokia N950 serve as the successor of the N900. Designation is more to the developers and those who understand technology or the like to modify a gadget. N950 existence was confirmed by Rich Green, Chief Technology Officer of Nokia in a developer forum.

Updated Facebook for Android with landscape mode features

Here’s the announcement from Facebook. if your phones not already beeping/vibrating/flashing and demanding a manual update. “We’ve just released v1.5.2 of Facebook for Android. This version adds the ability to upload photos to friend’s Walls or to Groups and ensures that your photos are uploaded with the correct orientation. We’ve also made improvements to landscape mode and security. Get it from the Android Market now.”

Microsoft released official version of Internet Explorer 9

The new OS requirements make IE9 the first Windows-branded browser made specifically for Vista, Windows 7, and Server 2008, but not XP. But what’s most interesting is IE’s new look and what’s under the hood. Slated to win over Firefox and Chrome lovers with its simplistic layout, updated Web standards, and breathtaking speed, Microsoft has done so with style.

IE9 has changed all of this with a simple layout including back and forward buttons to the left of your address bar and tabs located to the right of your URL. Home, Favorites and Configuration icons are even further to the right, for a clean look.

Skype 5.0 Beta for Mac Roll Out with Calling Group

The only change in Windows version and Mac version is group calling facility and a bit different interface. Mac users can now enjoy group calling with upto 5 skype users with the similar version. That is for group calling your Mac friends should also update Skype to 5.0 beta version. It’s only available for a 28-day free trial and after that will be included in the premium package. Perhaps skype has not included facebook integration feature to make users use Mac Address Book

Bit Torrent App IS Drive for iPhone

Apple is known for its strict measures while admitting third party software to its App Store. BitTorrent service was not permitted by Apple earlier. However one developer cautiously avoided the word “Torrent” in the submission process and managed to get a berth in App Store. This week BitTorrent based “IS Drive app” was approved by Apple and added to App Store. The app allows users of Imageshack’s Torrent download service to control and add Torrent downloads through a trendy interface. The app shows screenshots of completed video downloads.

Apple has relaxed its policy on third party software for quite some time in order that its users will have a wide variety of products and apps to select for their specific needs.
