HTC Thunderbolt coming update to Android 2.3


HTC’s thundering smart Thunderbolt Android phone was recently announced and made available with Android 2.2 OS preloaded under its skin. While the absence of Android 2.3 OS did disappoint us initially, the latest revelation by an alleged HTC representative seems to bring back the joy.

In a mail response concerning some Bluetooth issue, a HTC representative revealed to Droid-Life that the HTC Thunderbolt Android 2.3 update was due for a Q2, 2011 release. And its claimed to bring along quite a bountiful of features and improvements for the Thunderbolt.

HTC Thunderbolt was never mentioned to be a NFC-capable device, but the list of features and improvements specified by the HTC representatives included it. However, we will exercise patience until HTC airs a direct confirmation to assert this revelation.

It has an 8 megapixel HD-capable autofocus camera on the back which is flanked by a LED flash while a 1.3 megapixel on the face of the phone enables video calling. Other interesting features include a 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated Google apps, Google Android 2.2 OS and much more.
