Less than one month since its launch, Apple has made some changes to Ping by adding a special feature on the social networking service this music special.
The addition of these new features aimed to better satisfy the users and increase its market share. Apple also seems to attempt to prove the ability of the real Ping. Because before, though looks interesting, Ping had been criticized not have a real social network attached, so it is difficult to be successful.
Apple is known for its strict measures while admitting third party software to its App Store. BitTorrent service was not permitted by Apple earlier. However one developer cautiously avoided the word “Torrent” in the submission process and managed to get a berth in App Store. This week BitTorrent based “IS Drive app” was approved by Apple and added to App Store. The app allows users of Imageshack’s Torrent download service to control and add Torrent downloads through a trendy interface. The app shows screenshots of completed video downloads.
Apple has relaxed its policy on third party software for quite some time in order that its users will have a wide variety of products and apps to select for their specific needs.
At the RIM’s BlackBerry event, we got a new device called the BlackBerry Torch 9800 revealed, the BlackBerry that just got approved by the FCC. This will be the first BlackBerry capable of running the new BlackBerry 6 operating system, which promises a better browser, better multimedia support, better app potential, etc. Torch 9800 is a touchscreen slider with a full QWERTY keyboard.
AT&T just launched its product page for the phone, which reveals BlackBerry Torch as a “slider” phone with a full QWERTY keyboard and optical track-pad. Naturally, the phone also sports a touchscreen dispel (3.2″, 480×360), 5MP camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G connectivity, 512MB or 512MB (RAM, ROM), 4GB flash, and a 4GB microSD card.

Motorola just added a slew of new non-U.S. phones to its Android 2.1 update list (see the previous update), including a bunch of Backflips and Quenches. Doesn’t really give us a better idea of when the new software will actually be available, but it’s good to see Moto at least trying to be transparent about it. That said, it’d be great if we’d see some Android 2.2 update schedules popping up.
