Are you familiar with BitTorrent or Gnutella? Now you can have BitTorrent and Gnutella clients on your S60 phones. They are called SymTorrent and Symella. Both of them are open-source projects from Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
If you are not familiar with BitTorrent or Gnutella, they are peer-to-peer file distribution protocol. They are designed to distribute large amount of data widely without consuming too much server bandwidth resource. Both of them are very popular and they have million of users.
Recently, iSkoot released an application that allows us to make Skype call without “PC part”. Unfortunately, not all S60 phones are supported at the moment (check a list of supported S60 phones at the end of this posting). Another limitation is the number of supported countries. Not all countries are supported at the moment.
How does iSkoot works? When you make a phone call via iSkoot application, your phone communicates with iSkoot’s server. The communication is done via normal voice call, it means you have to pay for air time.
Each of the plug-in can be installed individually. So, you don’t need to install all of them if you don’t need any of the plug-ins. I guess you know already the usage of these plug-ins from their names. For example, Applications and tasks displays the list of application and tasks running on our phone. You can also display detail information about applications or tasks, such as the UID, capability, stack size, etc.
